I got a bit thrown off by the holiday weekend (and the slim pickings) but here are some noteworthy stories this week:
- RENEWED ENERGY: GE Transformer Could Link Wind, Solar to Grid (Dow Jones Newsires): I don’t know all the technical details, but this could be significant for NYC because one of ConEd’s biggest complaints about large solar energy systems is issues with grid connection. (If you can’t read the full article, copy and paste the title into Google News search. One of the idiotic quirks of the WSJ website.)
- Solar power boost for US rental outfits (Financial Times): Again, some potential for New York because of all the roof space and rental properties.
- The 5 Best Cities to Land a Green Job (The Daily Green): That’s right, NYC is first on the list.
